Smart Meetings magazine goes out to more than 40,000 meeting, convention, incentive and trade-show planners across North America, and its magazine and website do a fine job of covering the important issues that planners face in their work. They also report on recent developments in popular meeting and incentive destinations to show planners the most interesting and memorable experiences for business groups using that region.

So when the June issue of Smart Meetings arrived on my desk this week, I was very happy to see that it contained a full report on the three prime destinations on Mexico’s Pacific Coast: Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos. As the article mentions, All Inclusive Collection has multiple properties across Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos (from our Hard Rock and Nobu brands), with a few more such properties to come in the next year. Here is a link to the article: https://www.smartmeetings.com/destination_article/mexicos-pacific-coast-gorgeous-and-accessible

But the one thing that struck me about the article was the sheer number of active pursuits as well as entertainment and cultural offerings found in each destination. At a recent hotel industry conference, one executive from a hotel company said this about the travel experience: “Guests today are looking to find deeper rewards from travel than what was previously sought. So hoteliers are adapting to expand their services and layer in personal touch points to stand out in our markets. Travel isn’t just about a departure from regular life, and being at a hotel that has the basic amenities to make it your temporary home. People really want to experience the local culture, be immersed in it, and find hands-on ways to do activities they might have never done before.”

That observation makes perfect sense, and the Mexico Pacific Coast article in Smart Meetings reinforces those thoughts—just look at all the unique activities and opportunities that are available near our resorts in Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos. These local experiences actually help attendees retain what they learn in and out of their meeting sessions, strengthen the bonds between attendees, and also strengthen attendees’ affinity for the company they work for. All of that makes for a great return on investment for the host organization.

It would be worth your time to browse the article, to fully understand just how much opportunity there is in these Mexican destinations to build unique and memorable group events. And if you are considering Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos for any upcoming events, please contact us so we can show you what we’ve done with our local tourism partners to give meeting and incentive groups the experience of a lifetime.
