Well, that sure went fast. It does not seem like it has been an entire year since we opened the doors to Hotel UNICO 20°87°, AIC Hotel Group’s adults-only all-inclusive property in Riviera Maya, Mexico. But the first 12 months have indeed come and gone, and the good news is that the guest reviews have been really positive over the course of the year.

In particular, one area that guests are finding remarkable is the ability to choose the scents they want in their guest rooms. Given that smell is the strongest sense for connecting memories to experiences, this customization of the sleeping-room environment helps the planners of corporate meetings and incentive programs to deliver a guest experience that stays with their attendees for many years. And to keep that memory especially strong, attendees can also take home the scents they choose while at Hotel UNICO 20°87°. In other words, meeting and incentive attendees can be reminded on a daily basis of the wonderful time they had at their company’s event just by catching a hint of the fragrance they came home with—how is that for return on investment?

Also keep in mind that spa treatments at Hotel UNICO 20°87° are part of the all-inclusive rate; there is only a 20-percent gratuity added. And with all the wonderful fragrances involved in the spa experience, attendees will surely want to bring home some of those scents as well, to be reminded of their time at our property.

What’s more, even in our meeting and social-event spaces, we use certain scents to create attendee alertness as well as comfort, and those scents will also trigger good memories for attendees long after they return home. Overall, the sense of smell is a powerful tool for meeting and incentive planners, and Hotel UNICO 20°87° is well versed in helping business groups make the most of that element to improve the ROI of their events.
