The Top Meetings & Incentives Show Is Here—and We’re There!

From September 10-12, nearly 14,000 meeting and incentive planners, hoteliers, destination executives, and technology providers will come together in Las Vegas for IMEX, the largest business-events show in North America and rivaled globally only by the IBTM World show in Barcelona each November.
IMEX is an event that I put in bold letters in my calendar at the very start of each year, because it is one of the best opportunities for me to connect with meeting and incentive decision-makers in a meaningful way. Whether it be on the show floor, in the prefunction area outside the dozens of educational sessions, or at a meal or reception, the conversations I have with planners are really focused on their needs and desires as they use events to reach their companies’ business objectives.
These conversations help me in two ways: First, they give me detailed insight into the changing trends and themes within meetings and incentives at this moment in the economy. And second, such interactions allow me to tell planners how our properties in Miami, Dominican Republic, and Mexico’s Caribbean and Pacific coasts have fulfilled similar types of programs. By demonstrating this to planners, I can prove to them that our sales and service people will deliver the balance of creativity and cost containment that corporate events require.
