DMC + AIC = Great Event ROI

I just read a summary of all the topics that were discussed at last month’s ADMEI conference, which is the annual in-person educational event for destination management companies (DMCs). The nearly 300 attendees met in Chicago and talked about everything from new leisure and entertainment ideas for meeting and incentive groups, to best practices in maximizing a group’s budget, to the legal considerations that are connected to off-site events within a destination.

From what I read, it became even more clear to me why DMCs are a valuable asset in a destination. First, they have to know all the ins and outs of their local area: the language, the best transportation routes, the event venues, the entertainers, the tour operators, and which activities and local personalities can be brought into events at the host resort too. But DMCs also have to understand all the local regulations and other factors that could affect both the experience and the cost of off-site events in their destination. So for meeting and incentive planners, the cost of using a DMC is very worthwhile for the benefit they deliver to a meeting or incentive group.

Actually, when a business group comes to one of our All Inclusive Collection resorts in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, or Miami, the event planner also has a consultative partner right on property as well. Our own meeting planners will help coordinate all on-site activities, both business and leisure. And the flat all-inclusive per-person rate at most of these properties includes everything related to your meeting on property (except a small fee for beach and rooftop event set-ups).

Our on-site planners can help you choose among the many indoor meeting rooms and outdoor spaces that can accommodate over 1,000 attendees (and up to 3,500 at some resorts), and which can be broken into any combination of smaller spaces. Each resort also has 10 or more spaces that can be used for smaller group meetings from 10 to 100 attendees. Plus, attendees can choose from any of the four or five different restaurants under an all-inclusive property’s banner, each with a different cuisine and ambience.

So if you’re looking to bring an event to the Pacific or Caribbean coast of Mexico, the Dominican Republic or Miami, the combination of great local DMCs and an AIC Hotel Group property will ensure that your organization sees a great return on investment.
