Introducing Nobu Hotel Los Cabos to IMEX America Attendees—and You

Well, after spending three full days in Las Vegas with more than 3,000 meeting, convention and incentive buyers during mid-October’s IMEX America event, I was ready for a day of rest. Fortunately, I was able to sleep a bit late on the weekend following the show. Now that I’m fully rested, I’m ready to tell you the same great news that I told the countless meeting and incentive planners I mingled with at IMEX: Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, the seventh property that’s part of our collection, is well on its way to completion and a mid-2018 grand opening.

With properties already on the eastern and western coasts of Mexico, in the Dominican Republic and in Miami, AIC Hotel Group has made strong inroads with Fortune 1000 companies looking for memorable meetings and incentives that showcase local flavor yet are easy to plan. Having a property in Los Cabos, on the dramatic southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, means that companies can rotate among our properties in different destinations over several years. This provides attendees with that unique local experience each time while providing planners full confidence in the quality of accommodations, F&B, activities, amenities and service their attendees will receive. And while the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach and Nobu Hotel Los Cabos utilize a European Plan for meals and beverages rather than the all-inclusive plan that our Hard Rock Resorts are known for, we aim to make the negotiation and planning for each aspect of a group program as easy and satisfying at our Nobu properties as it is at our Hard Rock Resorts.

Another nugget of good news came out just as I was leaving for the IMEX show: The Bret Michaels Rock Star Suite at the 1,264-room Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was named “Mexico’s Leading Hotel Suite” by World Travel Awards. On the top floor of the property and with a 180-degree view of the ocean, the 9,200-square-foot indoor/outdoor space can accommodate about 90 people for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dancing, billiards, private screenings or just simply lounging around. Just three years old, the suite has hosted not just meeting and incentive groups but also dozens of musicians, actors, and other celebrities who love the features and the atmosphere of the suite.

With so much news to share with meeting and incentive planners, I’m already looking forward to January, when the PCMA Convening Leaders event brings more than 2,000 planners to Nashville. I hope to see you there!
